B.T. Gray is the founder of the African American Wine Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote wine education.

B.T. holds a J.D., and an MBA from the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University, and she is also a WSET Level 3, as well as a CSW.

B.T. became interested in wine while she was working in Chicago, IL. B.T. started attending local wine tastings and decided to, ‘learn a little bit’ about wine. B.T. first began classes at the International Sommelier Guild, and she continued her wine studies with the Wine Spirit and Education Trust (WSET), and later had the honor to sit as an associate wine judge (her score did not count!) at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

African American Wine Society’s purpose is to facilitate the education of still, fortified, and sparkling wines. Our goal is to provide an online educational platform that will enable members to learn about wine.
